  1. I think this is a great post! John A Macdonald resigned knowing that he would not get the majority of the votes for the contract of the Pacific Railway so the Conservative government decided to quit before they would be thrown out of power. He also knew that George Brown wouldn’t be able to put together a strong government so when Brown failed, they could take over, which is exactly what happened. Did you know that when Macdonald took over for George brown he remained Prime Minister until his death in 1891? (http://www.thecanadianencyclopedia.ca/en/article/pacific-scandal/) I also love the hashtags you used, they were very funny!

  2. I love how down to earth you make John A. seem! It makes him seem more human and less like a untouchable, historical figure. I would assume that he was being sarcastic or ironic when he wished George Brown good luck and it made me smile because it accurately portrayed his character. John A. was a man that went the roundabout way to reach his goals and people were often annoyed by this, and he reveled in their frustration and annoyance. I wondered if that is what you had in mind when writing the post? I believe that his good luck wish was not sincere. If you wanted to learn more about John A's personality, I found a site that I believe to hold good information on the subject, but you may have to read into it to attain it.
