We learned about the first people and how they lived, how they held onto peace and prosperity.
The first peoples of Canada signed treaties to band together and hunt larger herds of animals for the benefit of everyone.
We also learned about worldview and sourcing of historical evidence, such as sorting it into primary and secondary sources and how "presntism" can impact the world.
Primary sources are mainly recordings or journals from the event itself while the secondary sources are pretty much anything else.
peace and prosperity is always a good thing to agree on same as how they signed treaties. hunting together always works better so they get more animals for them to have/eat. I think world view is very important to learn about stuff that happened before my time.
ReplyDeleteThe First peoples would hunt together in larger groups because they would kill more, and have more to share around their groups. Primary Sources are original sources for the event such as letters, diaries and photographs. Secondary Sources are anything that was constructed from Primary Sources such as textbooks, books, and films.
ReplyDeleteyou have good points but I think the aboriginals signed the treaty because they wanted peace and prosperity not because they wanted to hunt in larger groups but hunting in larger groups is a good idea to get more food. also primary sources are anything original something authentic and secondary sources are like textbooks storys history classes etc you could also use a picture to make this more clear to the audience.
ReplyDeleteI think that there are great points in this blog, but in my own opinion I think the aboriginals signed the treaty because they wanted peace and prosperity not because they wanted to hunt in larger groups but hunting in larger groups is a good idea to get more food. Also primary sources are anything original something authentic and secondary sources are like textbooks, stories, videos, history classes etc. You could also use a picture to make this clearer to the audience or maybe even a better reference to show what you mean by the first peoples. It would make this clearer for people to just look at and understand. If you want to check out my reference for more detail please do!! http://firstpeoplesofcanada.com/fp_groups/fp_groups_overview.html
